Bracket Sign for the KiiT Coffee Shop on a Heritage Facade

The coffee shop occupies one window and a door in an old building with moulded plasterwork. A facade sign above the entrance would be close to useless here: the street is narrow, and you only see that wall once you are standing in front of the door.

So the name went onto a bracket. The panel is round and double-sided, black field and yellow lettering, the same contrast used on the cups. The projection was set so the sign reads along the pavement from both directions without fouling the second-floor windows.

An old facade limits how you can fix things: you cannot drill the mouldings or run a wide mounting frame across the decorative work. We built a narrow wall bracket on two arms and landed it on a plain brick section between the rustication, where a fixing goes in without risking a chip in the render. The rest of the wayfinding was kept small — an "open" decal on the door and chalkboards by the entrance.
