Veterano Pizza's Neon Wings Indoors

The wall is dark and matt, and that is the condition under which interior neon makes any sense at all. On deep green only the line glows and the wall stays a backdrop; on a pale wall the same piece would throw a halo and read half as well.

The emblem is built from long straight rays converging into two wings. That is generous graphics for flexible LED neon: it holds a small radius badly, but it gives back an even run and a sharp corner without distortion. The lettering is set as outline — every character traced around its perimeter rather than filled with solid light. That is twice the neon for the same cap height, but at two metres a letter stays a letter: a filled form merges into a smear at that distance.

The photo shows the room still under way — the floor unwashed, packaging on the bench. That is the proper order rather than haste: the power run has to reach the wall before the finishes go on. If the sign arrives after the fit-out, the cable ends up surface-mounted in trunking, and no amount of careful installation redeems that.

The second photo is the same brand's facade sign: the same wing, the same name, only in dimensional letters on a dark field. One set of graphics in two technologies is an ordinary situation for a multi-site client. The difference is distance — a facade is read from the road, so cap height and area do the work; a sign in a dining room is seen from two metres, and there everything comes down to the weight of the line.
